Funeral services for Francis "Ray" Hollis, Jr., age 78 of Olathe, KS will be held at 10:00 am Monday, 1 October, 2012 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Ray was a long time resident of New Fairfield, CT. The family will receive friends and family on Sunday, 30 September, 2012 from 5 to 7 pm at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob Road, Olathe, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Little Sisters of the Lamb, 801 Vermont Ave, Kansas City, KS 66101.

Ray passed away on Thursday, 27 September, 2012 at The Villa St. Francis, Olathe, KS. He was born on 27 June, 1934 in Yonkers, NY to Francis Raymond Hollis, Sr. and Sadie B. Hollis. Ray graduated from Iona College in New Rochelle, NY after serving as a United States Marine during the Korean War. He raised a family in New Fairfield, CT, serving and supporting his community. A member of St. Edward's Parish, he was an avid athletic program booster of NFHS, and completed more than 20 years of service with New England Uniform Co., Danbury, CT.


He is survived by his wife Paula, sons Gerard, Paul and Jim, daughter Deborah, eleven grandchildren, brothers Robert and Gerard Hollis and many nieces and nephews. He was prceded in death by his sisters, Sheila Knoesel and Norine Smock.
