Loretta "Dutch" Ann Thompson, 66, Olathe, Kansas, passed away surrounded by family and friends Sunday, March 12, 2017, after a courageous 2 year battle against colon cancer.

Loretta was born in Gardner, Kansas, October 15, 1950, to William C. and Hazel R. Rousselo-Cox. She attended Olathe schools and graduated from Olathe High School in 1968. She retired from Farmers Insurance and continued to work at Long Motor Corp. and Aberdeen Village. Dutch enjoyed going to flea markets, garage sales, camping and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughters Melinda Cox (John Estrada), Dana Thompson (George Childers), Elizabeth Thompson (Gilbert Rodriguez) and son Thomas Thompson, Jr. Surviving grandchildren are Audra Spitzer (Dale Harris), Kaitlyn and Courtney Collins, Amara and Arian Cox, Ray and Austin Childers. She is also survived by her great-granddaughters Emery and Ella. Loretta will be missed very much by her special furry friend Chubbers.

Surviving siblings include Kenny and Tina Rousselo, Ronnie and Sandi Cox and Sandra Webster along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas "Tiny" Thompson, Sr., sister Connie Macon and brothers Larry Cox and Steve Cox.

The family would like to thank everyone who has helped us out along this journey, especially longtime family friend Ambure Ingle.

The family will receive friends for a visitation from 1:00-2:00pm on Saturday, March 18, at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home in Olathe, the funeral will follow at 2:00pm. Burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Olathe.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family.
