Zachary Ray Johnson, 28, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021. He was born on October 14, 1992 in Overland Park, Kansas to Wesley and Dianne (Shuck) Johnson.
Zach grew up in Overland Park, Kansas. He was baptized at Valley View Methodist Church and confirmed at Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas where he continued to be a member of up until his passing.
He attended Cottonwood Elementary School, Oxford Middle School, and Blue Valley Northwest High School before graduating in 2011. He also played club lacrosse for the Blue Valley West Jaguars. He had attended some college at K-State & Johnson County Community College. He had been employed by Costco for the past 4 years.
Zach enjoyed anything to do with family especially attending Kansas City Chief's games. The first game he attended was as a baby in his mother's womb. He continued as a Chief's fan for the remainder of his life. Zach enjoyed his adopted dog, Rover. He was the love of his life. He LOVED dogs!
Zach loved his friends like he loved family. He never met a stranger. He was there for anyone when needed. That was just one of his many qualities that God gifted him with. He was also gifted with the talent of creativity. He enjoyed taking pictures of all the architecture that Kansas City had to offer along with many different kinds of nature pictures.
Zach is survived by his loving parents, Wesley and Dianne Johnson; brothers, Chase Johnson and Trent Johnson; grandparents, Nancy Johnson of Lincoln, Nebraska, George Coon of Overland Park, Kansas, Dean and Aladean Shuck of Beatrice, Nebraska; along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim Johnson of Superior, Nebraska, Sharon (Henderson) Coon of Franklin, Nebraska; his uncle, Kenny Shuck of Superior, Nebraska; step-aunt, Diane (Goracke) Rhoden of Beatrice, Nebraska; and his cousin, Bailey Hoyer of Sibley, Iowa.
Memorials can be made out to the family of Zachary Johnson to be put towards charities we feel would be close to Zach's heart.
The family will receive guests for a visitation from 6:00-8:00pm on Friday, February 5, 2021, at Penwell Gabel's Olathe Chapel. The funeral service is private; however, the service will be live streamed beginning at 9:50am on Saturday and is available to view by visiting
