WOODROW K. "PETE" CLARY
Age 89, passed away August 12, 2007 in Olathe Medical Center, from complications of heat stroke. Private family services will be held. The family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital,
501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
He was born September 1, 1917 in Parsons, KS to William and Sylvia Clary. He served our country in the US Army, and married Betty Lee Thrasher in 1946. He retired from the US. Postal Service after more than 30 years of service. In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening and visits with his family in Parsons, KS. Most recently, he shared his memories of his service in the U.S. Army Infantry Division for a WWII Veterans documentary to be placed in the Library of Congress.
He is survived by his children; Mel Clary and his wife Mary, Richard Clary and his wife Pat, Cyndi Freund and her husband, John, and Bob Clary and his wife, Tracie, eight grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, in 2000.
