Willis Gene Neal, 82, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on the 1st of September, 2021.
On the 30th of June, 1939, Willis was born to Jesse Glen Neal and Bessie Omelia Neal (Smith) in Great Bend, KS, but was raised in nearby Hoisington, KS.
Willis worked as a teacher for the Shawnee Mission School District from 1962 until his retirement in 2000. He began his career at Broadmore Junior High and finished his career at Indian Woods Middle School.
On the 22nd of December 1963, he married LouAnn Hollinger, and they made their home in Overland Park, Kansas.
He was involved in youth league sports. Willis was an Umpire for several years and then was an Assistant Baseball Coach and later Head Coach for Indian Creek Junior High Football in the '80s. Willis was an avid golfer and enjoyed the links with his friends.
Willis is survived by his loving wife, LouAnn, sons Cory and Daniel, grandchildren Allison and Jackson. Willis had and many brothers and sisters; William (Bill), Laura Glenn (Glenna), Twyla, Jessie, Cecil, Sally, Phyllis (Willis twin sister), Penny, Aria, and Fredrick.
