William Thomas Ryder, Jr., 63, of Olathe, KS, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.
He was born on May 23, 1959 in Pittsburgh, PA to his adoptive parents William and Marie (Dellea) Ryder. Later in life, he also connected with his biological father, James Hasley.
William had a long and successful career as a carpenter in the Kansas City community. His colleagues and clients will remember him for his integrity and attention to detail, and his neighbors and friends will remember his generosity in helping others with household projects. In his free time, he enjoyed playing hockey, attending Nascar races, and fishing.
William was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marie Ryder, and sister Mary Jo Buehner. William is survived by his biological father, James Hasley; loving daughters, Megan (Robert) Niedzwiecki and Allison (Adam Howse) Ryder; granddaughter, Iris Niedzwiecki; and siblings Anne (William) Alexander, James Ryder, Jamie Hasley, and Rhonda (Fred) Ziegler.
A gathering to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, July 9th, 2022 from 3-5pm at his favorite hangout, Gert's Grille, 12018 College Blvd, Overland Park, KS. His ashes will be scattered near his childhood home in Buttermilk Bay, Cape Cod, MA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in William's memory be made to the
Kansas City Regional COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund.
