William Owens

William J. (Bill) Owens, 58, of Olathe, KS, lost his courageous battle with esophageal cancer, Tuesday, August 17, 2004, at his home. Cremation. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Esophageal Cancer Awareness Assoc., Office of the Treasurer, P.O. Box 519, Avila Beach, CA 93424; or Aldersgate United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Bill was born November 1, 1945 in Hardtner, KS. He graduated from Coats High School and Oklahoma State Tech. He worked for Honeywell International for 35 years, retiring in 2004. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of the Earl Collier Post #153 of the American Legion.

Bill loved woodworking in the winter, fishing in the spring and summer, and hunting in the fall. He also enjoyed gardening and lawn care.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Owens in 1999.

He is survived by his wife, Diana; his daughters Angela Owens and Cammy Eisenhour of Lawrence, KS; his step-daughter, Nancy Wolf of Los Angeles, CA a stepson, Rick Wolf of Olathe. He is also survived by his mother Louise Owens of Coats, KS; his sister Linda and husband Butch Suhler of Medicine Lodge, KS and two grandchildren.
