William "Bill" H. Holland, 89, of Olathe, KS passed away Tuesday April 9, 2013 at his home. Bill was born June 18, 1923 in Lake Mills, IA to Henry and Edith (Johnson) Holland. As a small child his family moved to Windom, MN. He graduated from Windom High School in 1941 before joining the Navy in 1942. Bill went on to attend MN School of Business, Beck School of Radio and Mankato State College. Bill married Elaine Morris June 4, 1950 in Welcome, MN. They made their home in Windom, where Bill was employed by the US Postal Service. Bill's career also included: radio announcer/sales, real estate broker, and motel/restaurant owner. Bill and Elaine lived in Sioux Falls, SD before retiring to Chandler, AZ and later Olathe, KS. They were members of the Hilltop United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls and later attended Grace United Methodist Church in Olathe. Bill was a member of numerous civic/business organizations and the Prudence Masonic Lodge #97 in Windom, MN for over 60 years. Bill will be remembered for his love of God, family and friends. He became a Christian many years ago, loved life and believed in living by the Golden Rule. Bill had a great love for sports his entire life, both as a participant and spectator.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Edith, sisters: Marjorie Battle, Aileen Grant, and Winifred Johnson, niece Sandra Johnson and nephew William "Bill" Grant.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Elaine, sons: Steve (Linda) of Lenexa, KS and Terry (Patti) of Thousand Oaks, CA. Grandchildren: Christopher (Amber), Jonathan, Trent, Haley, great granddaughter Charlotte and nieces and nephews.
