Wilfred F. Fasching, 85, of Edgerton, Kansas, passed away April 26, 2011 at Kansas City Hospice House. He attended schools in Lenexa, Kansas and Olathe, Kansas, graduating from Olathe High School in 1943. He was a member of the Army Air Force and served in World War II. He was a member of St. Pauls Catholic Church in Olathe, and American Legion Post 153 of Olathe. Wilfred had great respect for the Flag and the men and women who served in the Armed Forces to protect it. He was a leader in the Amercian Legion Funeral Detail at Post 153. He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad in Kansas City and Colorado. He traveled through Wyoming, Colorado and Nebraska in his work and managed to do some serious fishing along the way. He retired in 1983 and moved back to Olathe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Fasching; his wife, Beverly, and his brother Ralph Fasching. He is survived by brothers, Francis Fasching (Brenda); James Fasching (Deanna); and Carl Fasching. And also 9 nieces and nephews.
