Wilda Lucille Winslett died peacefully at home on December 8, 2019, in Overland Park, Kansas. She was 75 years old.
Born on April 17, 1944, in Hartville, MO, she is preceded in death by her parents Amos and Beatrice Thompkins and siblings Wilbur Thompkins, Esther Jefferson, Velma Moore, Clara Mae Duke, Carl Thompkins, Glenn Thompkins and Shirley Price.
Wilda graduated from Hartville High School in 1962. She worked several jobs before settling into her true calling as a homemaker. Wilda accepted Christ at an early age in Hartville, MO and attended Reaching Out for Souls Ministries until she became ill. She was a strong matriarch of her family and a warm and loving nurturer to many. She was gifted in many domestic skills including cooking, quilting and sewing. She also enjoyed gardening and fishing and was happy to share her harvest with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Dennis Winslett; daughters, Sonja Molette Winslett-Speed and DeNean Winslett Jones; sons, Samuel Warren, Douglas Warren, Steven Warren and Dennis Winslett (Felicia); siblings, Dorles Perkins, Ima June Loudermill, Dillard Thompkins (Shirley), Carolyn Taylor and Kathleen Simmons; twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
