Wilbur "Bill" Kenneth Zook, 83, passed away on March 15th, 2021 at his residence of natural causes. He was born April 24, 1937 in Newton, Kansas to George M. Zook and Gladys E. "White" Zook.
Bill attended public school in Zimmerdale through 8th grade. He attended Newton High School through junior year then attended Central College Academy in McPherson, Kansas for his senior year where he met his wife, Phyllis Jean Bistline. They were married on August 12th, 1958 and they shared over 62 years of marriage.
After High School, Bill attended Junior Central College and McPherson College and graduated in 1963.
He worked his way through college and was employed by King Construction Company and built bridges, churches and houses.
Bill attended the University of Missouri, Kansas City and graduated with his Masters of Education in 1967. He was a grade school teacher at the Stanley School in Kansas City, Kansas. He also taught communications to undergraduates at the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
Bill attended Saint Paul School of Theology and graduated with a Masters of Divinity in 1968. He was a minister at several United Methodist Churches in Kansas including Valley View United Methodist Church, McLouth United Methodist Church and Eudora United Methodist Church. He was also the chaplain at the Topeka State Hospital.
Bill loved to talk and tell stories. He enjoyed photography, football, basketball, history and music. He also had a fun sense of humor.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Zook, their daughter, Barb Zook and husband Lee Williams, grandson Dylan Williams, granddaughter Cassie Jones and husband Cody Jones, and two sisters, Marjorie Zook and Marian Heidner.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, George and Gladys Zook, as well as his three brothers, Arthur, David and Lloyd Zook.
Bill's celebration of life and family visitation will be held at Victory Baptist Church at 15075 W. 143rd St, Olathe, Kansas 66062 on Saturday, March 27th, 2021 at 10:30 AM.
