Wilbur "Dean" Williams Jr., 76, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024. He was born on August 13, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri to Wilbur and Anna (Sales) Williams.
Dean grew up with his siblings in Kansas City where he has called home his entire life. After high school Dean joined the Army where he traveled the world, met his wife and had countless adventures. After the Army Dean settled back in Olathe, Kansas where he started his family. Dean was passionate about his entire family and spent the majority of his time with them. Hobbies included playing card games with his family, his yearly golf trip with his brothers, spending time at the lake with his family, and watching his great-grandchildren play baseball and softball. Dean also loved Christmas, it was his favorite time of year. He said it was the greatest thing to be able to have his entire family together and he loved the looks on their faces when they opened their gifts. Dean's love of Christmas and companionship symbolized how he lived his life and how he will be remembered.
Dean is survived by his daughter Deanna (Brian) Cox, his son Tony Williams, granddaughters Dez (Kaleb) Rawlins, Aleah Archuleta, Mikayla Williams, Brooke Williams and grandson Tyler Williams and beloved cats Henry and Callie. Great grandchildren include Brodee and Blakelee Rawlins and Ralyn Williams. Dean is also survived by 3 siblings; Terry (Pon) Williams, Patty (Bob) Smith and Keith (Nancy) Williams. He leaves behind countless amounts of nieces and nephew and family and friends that loved and adored him very much.
He was preceded in death by his father Wilbur Williams and mother Lucy Williams.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 6pm – 9pm at Buffalo Meadows Shelter, 9650 Lone Elm Rd. Lenexa, KS 66220.
