Warren Albert Ahlgren (Al), 92, loving husband and father, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the charity of your choice.
Al was born June 3, 1921 in Kansas City, KS to Andrew and Annette (Larson) Ahlgren. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1939. Al served in the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He and Joy Rhodes were married October 17, 1953. Al was a member of Countryside Christian Church and a champion checker player.
Al was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arthur and Carl; sister, Helen Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Joy; children, Garry A. Ahlgren of OP, KS and Joy (Tina) A. Ahlgren Beckendorf of Belton, TX; sister, Anna Oblak of OP, KS; grandchildren Erik, Austin, Ryan, and Nathan Ahlgren, Andrew and Georgiana Beckendorf; and many nieces and nephews.
