WALTER LEE CARNES, Age 88, passed away March 10, 2006 in Olathe, KS. A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 19 at the Cedar Lake Village, where the family will receive friends an hour prior to service.

Walter was born May 12, 1917 in Fremont, IL, to Elza and Ella Carnes. He graduated from Bloomingdale High School in Bloomingdale, MI and went on to attend Parson's Business School in Kalamazoo. He served our country in the United States Army during the second World War, and returned from the service to begin his career as an upholsterer.
Walter is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary, his children Marilee Corwin of Bangor, MI, Rosemary Ramsey of Joplin, MO, Charlene Shibel of Olathe, KS, Judy Dustin of Kalamazoo, MI, Kennoth Carnes of Albany, NY, and Walter L. Carnes of Joplin, MO. Also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, including Mike and Jamey (Gina) Shibel, and eleven great-grandchildren, including Evan Shibel. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Lloyd George Carnes, his brother Bill Carnes and a sister, Luna Plum.
