W. Lois Cerne
W. Lois Cerne, 86, passed away Sunday October 24, 2010 at home. The family suggests contributions to the Olathe Hospice House, or Grace United Methodist Church.
Lois was born May 23, 1924 in Ness City, KS to John and Francis Engelhardt. She grew up in Kingman, KS and attended Southwestern University and graduated from Pittsburg State University where she majored in music. She went on to be a music teacher and primary school teacher. She was a very talented soloist and continued a love of music throughout her life. Lois and her husband enjoyed traveling throughout their 63 years of marriage. She always enjoyed her annual reunions with her beloved grade school friends. Lois and Al enjoyed following the Jayhawks through their children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son Mikel Cerne in 1997.
She is survived by her husband Al Cerne of the home, one daughter Connie Rishworth of Olathe, KS. Grandchildren; Robert Rishworth, Candice Shum, and Patrick Cerne, and two great grandchildren Sophia Rishworth and Ruthie Shum. And one brother Wayne Engelhardt of Abilene, KS.
