Vonnel June Bunch, 80, of Overland Park, KS passed away on December 8, 2018.
She was born on May 25, 1938 to Arnold and Viola Peterson at Alma, NE.
On June 18, 1962, she married H. E. "Dan" Bunch at Ft. Belvoir, VA. Vonnel and Dan resided in Virginia, and Chicago, before eventually settling in the Kansas City area in 1968.
Vonnel was an avid lover of books and design. She lovingly raised two daughters, 3 dogs, numerous barn cats, a Quaker parrot and eight horses. After Dan's death, she doted on her grandson, and was able to live out her life in the house she helped design.
Vonnel is survived by her loving daughters, Brenda L Bunch and Shelley Lake, brothers Robert, John and Brian Peterson, sister Carol Banta, and grandson Jared "Eddie" Henchek.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her mother and her father.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018, 1:30 pm at Penwell-Gabel Olathe Chapel, Olathe, KS,
followed by a memorial service at 2:00.
Donations in Vonnel's name can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the American Cancer Society, and may be mailed to Penwell-Gabel.
