Vollie R. Carter, 70, of Overland Park, KS passed Thurs. Oct. 1, 2015 at home. Cremation is planned with no services at this time.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Greater Kansas City SPCA.
Vollie was born Oct. 8, 1944 in Portsmouth, VA to Vollie and Nadine Carter. Vollie was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as a process engineer for the animal health industry for many years. He was a "house handyman", very creative and could fix anything. He enjoyed spending time at the lake, boating and water sking. He was an avid bike rider.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Dr. Edgar Cooper.
He is survived by his wife Mary Woodworth and his step children Kurt Woodworth of Olathe and Jan Cole of Overland Park. Grandchildren; Meghan, Mason, and Jackson. Cousin; Jeff Wendt of Albuquerque, NM and Aunt Louise Amos of Bartlesville, OK and other cousin's and friends.
