Vivian Jane Bonham

November 7, 1929 — December 9, 2021

Vivian Jane Bonham passed away on December 9th, 2021, after 92 years filled with love, laughter and family. She was a tremendous source of joy, wisdom, courage, and spunkiness to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss her greatly.

Vivian was born in St. Jacob Township, Illinois on November 7th, 1929. Her father, Clarence, was a schoolteacher; and her mother Mary was a homemaker. She was the youngest of 10 children. When she was small, her parents were in a serious car accident and not expected to survive. She spent some time with her Aunt Sally who loved and adored little Vivian. She met Bob (Robert) Bonham while they were attending college. They later married in 1948 after his discharge from the Navy in World War II. They had two daughters, Barbara and Joyce. Vivian and Bob lived in East St. Louis; Idaho; Maryland Heights, Missouri; and (after widowed) Olathe, Kansas.

Vivian was a top real estate agent at Century 21 until her retirement when she and Bob moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas. After the death of her husband, Vivian relocated to Olathe, Kansas.
Vivian was gifted in many kinds of hobbies. She was a phenomenal quilter, she made quilts for all her grandchildren. She was also very skilled in embroidery and cross-stitch. Vivian was also very involved in the art of bonsai. She made doll houses furnished with miniature furniture. And she also collected thousands of small glass shoes. She, along with Bob, were avid gardeners in Maryland Heights. She also played the piano and sang soprano.

Grandma was preceded in death by her husband Robert Bonham, parents Clarence and Mary, and 10 brothers and sisters as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by both of her beloved daughters, Joyce Ann Boeck and Barbara Bonham Eaton. She is survived by her son in laws Donald Eaton and John Boeck, granddaughter Michelle St. Clair, granddaughter Christina Jaegers and her husband Todd, granddaughter Britney Rice and her husband Scott, grandson Joshua David Bonham Eaton and his wife Tiffany and granddaughters Dina Bajorek and Deanya Lakas. Her adoring great grandchildren are Maryssa, Josh, Mary Brooke, Jessica, Charlee, Matthew, Maxwell, Grayson, Joseph, and Andrew. She has been supported by many loving neighbors and friends at Aberdeen Village in Olathe.
