Virginia was born May 16, 1921 in Paola, KS to William and Lenora Gsell. She attended school in Olathe where she met the love of her life, Don Williams. She attended the University of Kansas where she was a member of the Mu Phil Epsilon music sorority, was inducted into the Mortar Board Honor Society, and earned a Bachelors Degree in Music Education. After graduation, she married Don, her husband of 63 years.
Virginia was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church of Olathe, and along with her husband, Don, was involved in the building of the church on Harrison Street. She was very involved in the music program, and active as a member of the Worship Commission and the Women's Circle. Throughout her lifetime, Virginia shared her passion for music with family, friends, and her community. Her beautiful voice will be missed.
