VIOLET MARY SEEFELDT
Age 87, passed away March 7, 2008 at Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Olathe, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Good Samaritan Nursing Center, 20705 W. 151st Street, Olathe, KS 66062.
Violet was born March 5, 1921 in St. Louis, Mo to Henry and Amelia Schutz. She married Raymond H. Seefeldt on July 11, 1942, and together they raised their family in the St. Louis area. Upon moving to the Olathe area in 1993, she became active in the Seniors Serving Schools program at Blackbob Elementary, and also volunteered with the Red Cross, assisting with their blood drives. Violet was an active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday School for almost ten years, and enjoyed participating in the quilting and bible study groups. In her leisure, she was an award-winning painter, and her family will treasure the many afghans she knitted for them.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolynn (Michael) Bayne, of North Carolina, and her son Raymond (Julie) Seefeldt, of Louisburg, KS, grandchildren; Tricia Hankinson Simons, Matthew Dressler, and Robert and David Seefeldt, great-grandchildren; Stephanie Hankinson, and Xander and Ashton Dressler.
