Victor Eugene Agnew, 73, of Olathe, KS, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2012 at Olathe Medical Center. Rev. Dwight Douglas will lead the service in honor of Vic's life. Memorial contributions may be given to the Mayor's Christmas Tree Fund, Olathe or the Olathe Salvation Army.
Vic was born in KCMO on Feb. 25, 1939 to Victor L. and Helen (Landers) Agnew. He attended SE High School, KC, MO and served a tour of duty in the U.S. Navy, USS Midway. He owned and operated a lumberyard and rental properties in Indep., MO prior to suffering a brain tumor in 2001. Vic was an active member in the Ararat Shrine Drum and Bugle Corp, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Indep., MO. He loved to play the trumpet, square dance, and travel. He was an avid collector of antique bicycles, which he enjoyed restoring. God, family and friends were important to Vic and he attended College Church. He was a loving father and will be missed by so many who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Betty Agnew, KCMO, brother, Guy L. Agnew, KCMO, and cousin, Carl M. Wooderson, Jr., Olathe, KS. He is survived by daughter, Dana Agnew Ketterling, husband, Jay Ketterling, Olathe, KS; daughter, Sue Agnew, Indep., MO; step brother, David Agnew, KCMO; grandson, Bryce J. Kendrick, Olathe, KS; fiancé, Constance Card, Overland Park, KS and her daughter, Annette Card-Millman, Overland Park, KS, Constance's granddaughter, Jatee Card, Overland Park, KS; step granddaughter, Lindsey Ketterling, KCMO; aunts Sarah "Birdie Gouby, Lawrence, KS, Pauline Katz, The Villages, FL; nephews Ray Poteet, Perry, KS, Bob Poteet, NY; and cousin Ruth "Boots" Carlton, KC, MO.
