Veronica "Ronnie" Ferrini (Chabot), 81, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away peacefully on November 20, 2022.
She was born on June 15, 1941 to Amede and Lillian (Prelomek) Chabot. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, and her family moved to Southern California during her younger school days. She graduated from Reseda High School and took many college classes at the junior college later in life for fun.
She married the love of her life, Vince, on August 5, 1961, and made a final move to raise their family to Lancaster, California. Vince always said she was his angel and he married up big-time. They enjoyed many camping and fishing trips together. They moved to Kansas in 2017 to be closer family.
Ronnie loved children and helping others before herself, always. She loved to sit and listen to others, lending a shoulder, and most of all praying for others (up until the end, she was able to recite the Lord's Prayer when prompted). She worked in banking, loved on lots of kiddos as she ran a home daycare, and was an owner/operator of a Radio Shack in Palmdale, CA for nearly 25 years. She worked side-by-side with her beloved Vince. Then her final jobs included being surrounded by kids again as a school secretary for middle and elementary schools until she retired. She belonged to the Italian Catholic Federation and enjoyed many years of giving back to the community she loved so much.
Ronnie enjoyed many well-deserved trips to many countries with Vince through the Radio Shack, but her all-time favorite was a trip to Italy to celebrate Ronnie and Vince's 50th wedding anniversary. Ronnie also enjoyed playing card and dice games, camping, fishing, ice skating, walking, swimming, playing tennis, dancing, singing (listening to music), baking, cooking, and gardening (fruits, vegetables, and specifically roses). Ronnie's neighbors loved her for her generosity of her bountiful garden and love of cooking/baking. She loved all her dogs over her lifetime, but especially walking them.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vince of 60 years and grandson Daniel Poore. She is survived by her daughters Donna (Pete) Galier and Deborah (Darryl) Poore and her grandchildren Krista Poore, Timmy Galier, Lauren Galier, and Kayla (Noah) Leos, along with her sisters Amedee Chabot and Bernadette (Tom) Esquivel and several nieces and nephews. She loved, cherished and was so proud of her daughters and grandchildren and she was so excited to know she would be a Great Grammy. She was a fierce resilient prayer warrior and our Hero!
We would like to thank all the staff at Maggie's Place Memory Care and Vitas Hospice team.
Her memorial celebration of life will be Friday, December 9th at 10:00am followed by graveside committal at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Memorials suggested: Do a good deed for someone and pay it forward in memory of Ronnie or lend an ear to a lonely neighbor and really listen with your heart not just your ears, as she would always say.
