Vernell Carter, Sr was born in Rusk, Texas on July 15, 1943 and entered into eternal rest on November 7, 2020 in Olathe, Kansas surrounded by family. He was the thirteenth of fourteen children born to Pete and Margreette Carter.
Vernell's professional career as an aerospace engineer spanned 45 years. Beyond his career, he made an impact in his community through a lifetime of volunteer service. He was a devoted church officer, Kiwanis Club lieutenant governor, crisis hotline counselor, Sunday school teacher and youth ministry leader, Junior Achievement mentor, and NFA modern star farmer earning top youth farmer accolades for the state of Texas.
On July 31, 1963, Vernell was married to Barbara Meador. From this union is a legacy of 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
