Vera Vines

Vera Margaret Vines, "The Most Beautiful Girl in the Universe", went peacefully into the arms of Jesus at the age of 79, at Olathe Medical Center on February 11, 2014. She was born in Texas to Ruth and Merrick on February 19, 1934. She was married for 57 years to husband John Vines. Vera worked for many years as a speech therapist in the public school system in several states and abroad. Her love and dedication to children is known and admired by many. She enjoyed traveling with John, playing with grand kids, gardening and quilting.

Over the last several years, Vera has been a resident of Good Samaritan Center. Her faithful husband John was constantly at her side loving and caring for her. John and Vera especially enjoyed listening to the Bible together. Vera also enjoyed visiting with friends and going to devotions and other activities. She was a model of Christ's love and joy to all those blessed to know her.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents and her brother. She is survived by John, her loving and devoted husband, two daughters Cheree Roberts and Pam Hazell, seven grandsons, and a brother Steve McGaughey.
