Vera Nugen

Vera E. Nugen, 91 of Olathe, KS passed away Friday December 4, 2009 at Aberdeen Village. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 8 at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Olathe, KS. Burial in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 6-8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to The Deaf Cultural Center or First Baptist Church of Olathe.

Vera was born Dec. 26, 1917 in Moscow, KS to Lee and Effie Casady. She attended the Kansas School for the Deaf in Olathe before marrying Charles R. Nugen in 1945. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She always enjoyed cards, bingo and sports on tv with her friends at Aberdeen Village.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 2005, her parents, a sister Fern Platz and an infant brother.

She is survived by 3 sons Robert L. Nugen of Gardner, KS, Terry D. Nugen of Edgerton, KS and Karl L. Nugen of Olathe, KS. 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 unborn great great grandchild. As well as one brother Richard Casady of Amarillo, TX.
