Velma Lou Berg Buntin, 83, of Olathe, Ks., passed away Monday March 10, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Springhill, Ks. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer's Association.
Velma was born Oct. 24, 1930 in Pawnee, OK to Elmer and Lela Berg. She graduated from Pawnee High School in 1949 where she was proud to have been a member of the PHS Band. She was a member of the 1st Southern Baptist Church in Topeka, Ks. Velma enjoyed working on family genealogy, camping and playing the piano. She was active in many civic groups including the Christian Woman's Organization from Olathe, Ks.
She was preceded in death by her husband Louis E. Buntin, Sr. in 2006 as well as her parents Elmer and Lela Berg, and siblings Clarence Berg, Viola (Stecker) Logsdon, Olan Berg, Leona Weaver, and Boyd Berg.. She is survived by her children: Debra Bryant, Nancy Haney (Steve), and Louis Buntin, Jr. (Sandra). Also surviving are her grandchildren; James, Marade, Brandon, Conrad, and Brian, and great grandchildren Ian, Avery, Liam, Shelby, Cooper, Rylan, and Czarina. She is also survived by her sister Arlene (Richard) Cartmell.
