Trevor Wade Fuqua (Trev), 41, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on September 30, 2014, at his brother's home in Olathe, KS. Trevor was born on March 12, 1973, in Wichita, KS, to Rob and Judie Fuqua. He graduated from Northwest High School in Wichita in 1992, where he was a goalie for the soccer team and on the swim team. Trevor worked for and attended Butler County Community College until 2005 and then moved to Overland Park, KS. He was a sheriff's officer with the Wyandotte County Sheriff's Department and later was a security guard for Bank of America through Allied Barton Security.
Trevor is survived by his parents, now of Kimberling City, MO; his brother, Troy Branson Fuqua of Olathe; his sister-in-law, Kassie Fuqua of Olathe; his two beloved nieces, Aubrey and Zoey of Olathe; his girlfriend, Christy Synoground of Kansas City; his aunt, Pam Pearson of Somerville, NJ; his cousin, Steven Banden of Somerville, NJ; his uncle and aunt, Len and Carole Fuqua of Billings, MT; cousins Stephanie Diede, Eric Fuqua, Hunter Fuqua, David Fuqua, Jon Fuqua, and Chris Fuqua; and an uncle, Dr. Murray Young of Golden, CO.
Trevor was an avid sports fan and loved to attend games or watch games of the Dallas Cowboys (his true love), the Kansas City Royals, Sporting Kansas City Soccer, Oklahoma State University and Kansas State University. He also loved to attend soccer games and softball games for his niece, Aubrey. He was a 32nd Degree Mason at Albert Pike Lodge in Wichita, KS, and a Shriner with Median Temple in Wichita, KS.
Trev was a loving son and brother who would have done anything for his family. A gentle soul who touched the hearts of all who knew him, he will be greatly missed. Trev left us much too soon but is now at peace with our Heavenly Father.
A small Masonic service was held in Olathe, KS, for family and a few close friends on October 3, 2014. Another memorial service will be held in Bartlesville, OK, at a later time where Trevor's remains will be laid to rest in a family cemetery. A memorial has been chosen with the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Donations in Trevor's name can be sent to Shriners Hospitals, Office of Development, 2001 South Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63131.
