On August 30, 2017, Travis William Harlan, 36, of Louisburg, KS, formerly of Cedar Point, KS, husband, father, son, and brother passed away near Gillette, WY, in an automobile accident.
Travis will forever be remembered by those who loved him.
He leaves his wife and best friend, Audrey Harlan, their children, Kyle, Xander, and Easton, his parents Charles Harlan of Cedar Point, KS and Carla Harlan of Kansas City, MO, his brothers and sister Amanda Pittman (Harlan) of Topeka, KS, Chuck Harlan of Wesley, AR, and Chris Harlan of Topeka, KS; and by numerous family members and dear friends.
Above all, Travis loved his family and the Kansas City Royals. He enjoyed sports, all aspects of the great outdoors, writing music, and playing guitar. He graduated from Chase County High School in 1999 and went on to join the nearly almost famous Chase County garage band, County Red. He worked at Trans Am Trucking in Olathe, KS for 13 years and recently accepted a position with Cyclone Drilling in August 2017.
A memorial service in memory of Travis will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation following until 5:00p.m. Services will be held at Penwell-Gabel funeral home, 14275 Black Bob Rd. Olathe, KS.
An informal celebration of life/First Annual Trav Harlan Memorial Festival will be held at 5620 SW Wanamaker Rd, Topeka, KS following the ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Travis Harlan Education fund, an education fund for Kyle, Xander, and Easton, in c/o Community America Credit Union; 16110 W 65th St., Shawnee, KS 66217.
