Toni Lea Carroll, 55, of Olathe, passed away on June 17, 2019 at Olathe Medical Center, surrounded by her family.
She was born December 17, 1963 to Richard and Rebecca (McAfee) Morris at Bethany Medical Center in Kansas.
Toni was an RN, and attended Kansas City Kansas Community College. Throughout her career, she worked at Bethany Medical Center, Overland Park Regional Medical Center, Shawnee Mission Medical Center and Olathe Medical Center. She also worked at Pinnacle Ridge in Olathe and has worked as a Hospice Nurse for the last several years at Crossroads Hospice, Olathe.
She was a prominent member and supporter of the Olathe North Athletics Program; known and loved by all as "Mama Carroll". Her cookies, breakfast omelets and many other gestures of love and support will be missed by all.
Toni had a passion for helping and caring, and was always quick to share stories about her boys and grandchildren. She was the "glue" that held things together, supporting her boys in their athletics as well as a host of their friends and boys on the many teams her husband coached over the years. This also spilled over into her career. Toni never did anything halfway and gave every endeavor her all.
She did not speak of those she worked with as a "Co-worker". To Toni, they were her "other family"- a special group of individuals whom she loved and had the privilege of working with, sharing the special bond that only other professionals in her career truly understand. With them, she was in her element, taking care of her many patients, rejoicing, grieving, supporting each other in good times and bad as they worked together. She celebrated her birthday last year with special friend and co-worker, Toni, at Disneyworld.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 31 years, Tom Carroll and their sons, Josh( Marissa) Carroll and Jake (Kenzi) Carroll, grandson Xavier "X" age 4, and grand-daughter, Jade, age 2, her mother, Becky (Dick) Eggleston, her dad, Richard ( Beverly) Morris, sisters Terri (Tim) Bomar, Kim Bond and Corey Grace, two sister-in-laws, Lisa (Ron) Campbell, and Cindy Carroll, one brother-in-law, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William "Bo" and Velda McAfee, and Jacob Morris and Lillian Morris (Ray), her great-grandparents, and many aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to a charity of your choice, or to Crossroads Hospice, Olathe.
