Tom was born May 31, 1944 in Pittsfield, IL to Lowell and Lucille Joslin. He obtained a Bachelor's of Science Degree from The University of Missouri in Rolla in Electrical Engineering. His parents, his brother, Robert Joslin, his daughter, Amy (Joslin) Boyle and cousins, Sandra Angel and Jay Shelby, preceded him in death. Survivors include the love of his life for over 52 years, Karen (Poecker) Joslin, daughter Sheri Long and husband Wayne, son Corey Joslin and partner Lisa; grandchildren, Krista and Matt Long and brother, Richard Joslin and wife Pat.
Tom was a devout follower of Jesus Christ and was committed to his family, church and community. Singing in the choir and performing in drama productions were some of his greatest passions. He also taught Sunday school and served as an usher.
Tom had a unique sense of humor, being known for his famous jokes, puns and one-liners. Every bridge he traveled under, he greeted with a honk of his horn delighting his children. Watching his grandchildren at their many activities was one of his greatest joys.
As an active member of the Boy Scouts, he served as scoutmaster for many years. Campouts, high adventure camping (Philmont), back packing, and canoe trips with his son, Corey were some of his greatest adventures.
Tending his large garden provided vegetables for his family, friends and neighbors. Designing and building wood working projects were one of his past-times. He was an avid reader and loved historical novels, mysteries and action adventures.
In Kansas City, KS and Taylor, Michigan, he was employed for 35 years at Dearborn-Midwest Conveyor. He served in many roles with his last one being Human Resource Manager. After retiring, he volunteered at the Overland Park Arboretum where he loved running the trains and working in the train garden.
Tom was loved by many and will be missed, but we rejoice knowing that he is home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
