Thomas Shavers, Jr.

Tom Shavers, 70, of Olathe, KS died Sept. 8, 2007 with loving family present. He was born June 10, 1937 in Scottsboro, AL. Following six years in the U.S. Navy, he supported his family as a professional truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, six sons (Dewayne Lafferty, Bob Lafferty, John Lafferty, Andrew Shavers, T.J. Shavers and Tommy Shavers III), four daughters (Lorene Hendrickson, Barbara Shaffer, Patricia Knight-Miller, and Sandra Brewer), 28 grand children and four great-grand children, and two new additions expected any day.
Visitation, Friday, September 14, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 pm, at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 S. Blackbob Rd., Olathe, KS. Funeral service, Saturday, September 15 at 1:00 p.m., also in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment, Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
