Thomas Anthony Ross, 58, of Kansas City, Mo passed away on March 28, 2012. Tom loved everyone he met and few could resist loving him in return. He was born special, and lived his life joyfully. He was at once innocent and mischievous, gentle but determined, trusting but wary, and always passionate. He was the forever little brother to his 10 siblings who loved him dearly and will miss him greatly.
Thomas was preceded in death by both his parents, John and Dorothy Ross and one sister, Marguerite Whiteside Ross. He leaves his nine siblings, Sister Marilyn Ross, RSM, Omaha, NE; John Michael and wife Loretta of St. Charles, MO, Teresa Henninger of Denver, CO, Stephen and wife Janet of Chillicothe, MO, Rita Ross, Shawnee, KS; Terence Ross, Mission, KS; Capt. Timothy Ross (Ret) and wife Tracy of Norfolk, VA, David Ross of Blue Springs, MO and Kathleen Ross, Blue Springs, MO. Tom had numerous nieces and nephews who were all an important part of Tom's life. Tom had special caregivers who loved him and took care of him for over 15 years, in particular Brenda at Elm House and Angela at ICAN were an important part of Tom's life. Tom had a truly wonderful and fulfilled life enriched by all of the care givers at Elm House and a special fondness for his favorite barber, Joe.
Although the family can never adequately express our gratitude, special thanks is given to all of the staff at Elm House and the Emergency Room Care staff at Truman Medical Center for their compassionate and honest care of our brother and Chaplain Jose Martinez who helped us in a difficult time.
Services will be at Holy Cross Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m., 5106 St John Ave, Kansas City, MO 64123 with a celebration of Tom's life immediately following the service in the adjacent school cafeteria.
