Our beloved husband, father and grandfather Thomas W. Meisenzahl Jr, of The Woodlands, Texas met his Savior and Redeemer on May 23, 2024.
Born in Rochester, N.Y. on December 13, 1946, to Thomas and Betty Meisenzahl. Tom graduated from Niagara State University with degree in Sociology in 1968. Immediately after graduation he began his Army career and served his country on active duty until February 1972. After completing missile training in Fort Bliss, Texas he was assigned to duty in Aschaffenburg, Germany. Tom's love of aviation led him to becoming helicopter pilot; after successfully completing training, he was assigned to serve in Vietnam. He left the military in 1972 and continued his service in the Active Army Reserves for 20 years, retiring as Lieutenant Colonel in 1996. He then entered the business world and proved to be a successful businessman, entrepreneur and aviator, even flying "Newshawk 5" for local Kansas City TV station for several years. Tom loved his years working with EPG and Caterpillar heavy equipment dealers.
Tom loved cool cars, being on the lake (drinking his morning coffee, sitting on the dock), water skiing and boating. After marriage he was introduced to golf ~ another love of his. Some of his most cherished moments were watching his nine grandchildren play sports and enjoying their hobbies; they affectionally called him "Peeps". Tom loved watching sports and has been a KC Chiefs and Royals fan for decades, having season tickets when it wasn't fathomable.
Tom is survived by his wife Patti, whom he met while stationed in Fort Bliss, Texas. They dated for about 10 weeks, fell in love, and were married for almost 55 years. He is also survived by four wonderful children, their spouses and nine amazing grandchildren: Stephanie Ely (Dan), Ryann, Morgaine and Jack, Corey (Jennifer), Jakob, Brooklynn and Josef, Billy (Tabitha), Will and Halle and Katie Timmons (Michael) and Harrison.
