Thomas Harold Taylor, 69 of Olathe, KS passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014 at his home. He was surrounded by his loving wife and beautiful daughter.
He was born in Lawrence, KS, July 25, 1944, to Wayne Willard and Rita Christeen Taylor. Tom graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1962; received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Marymount College May of 1977. Tom was married to Eve Hazel LeBatard on May 1, 1965 in Biloxi, MS.
Tom served in The United States Air Force from 1964-1968. He received several awards and accolades during his time of service.
He is survived by his wife Eve of 48 years, their sons Martin Taylor of Olathe, KS and Jack along with his wife Rena Taylor of Olathe, KS and his daughter Tanya and her husband Rick Blocker of LaVista, NE, Grandchildren Brittany Taylor, Erin Blocker and Christopher Taylor. He was preceded in death by his mother Rita Christeen Zurbuchen, sister Connie Greenhalgh and infant grandson Brandon L. Taylor.
There will be a viewing on Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 6:30-8:30pm at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 Blackbob Road, Olathe KS 66062. Friday, May 2, 2014 Funeral Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, 15915 W. 143rd St., Olathe KS 66062. There will be a viewing from 9:30-10:45. Family prayer from 10:45-11. Service is from 11:00-12:00. Burial will be on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Leavenworth National Cemetery at 10:00.
