Theda B. (Cook) Sellens, age 87, Overland Park, KS, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2010 in Overland Park, KS. The family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer's Assc. and/or Odyssey Hospice.
Theda was born August 4, 1922 in Hominy, Oklahoma and lived in Paola and Hoisington where she graduated from High School. She was a volunteer with the U.S.O. during WWII. She married George Sellens June 4, 1946, they moved to Manhattan, Kansas and raised their family. Theda was a homemaker, enjoyed bowling, the outdoors, and was a member of Rebekah Lodge. Theda's personal belief was "Try God". She had a quick wit and smile, was always willing to help others, and was generous with her random acts of kindness.
She was preceded in death by her husband; George Sellens in 2006. parents; D.H. Cook and Bea Cook, brother; Bill Cook.
She leaves her children; David Sellens of California, Nancy (John) Coleman, John Sellens, Debra (Lonny) Howat, Mark (Carmen) Sellens, Tricia (Bill) Stutts all of Kansas, sisters; Jean, Peg, and Susie, 11 grandchildren, and one great grandson.
