Teresa Brummett

June 15, 1961 — June 11, 2016

Teresa Ann (Davis) Brummett, 55, of Olathe, KS returned home to her Lord on July 11th, 2016 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. She was known for being incredibly strong - she proved it to be true.

Teresa was born in Paola, Kansas to William and Helen Neff Davis. She attended school in Stilwell and Basehor, KS, graduating from Basehor High School. Soon after, she entered nursing school and graduated in 1982 from St. Luke's in Kansas City, MO. She was a dedicated nurse (RN, BSN, and CRNI) for over 30 years, specializing in the oncology and infusion therapy fields. She furthered her career in 2011 by becoming a nurses manager, as well.

Hunting and her Harley were two of Teresa's passions, but her daughter Shannon was her sunshine and her greatest joy. She loved being a mom and always said it was her greatest accomplishment. The love and bond they share is unbreakable.

Teresa will be remembered for how intelligent and honest she was. If you didn't want the truth, you didn't ask her. She had such a wit about her; yet, she could sock you one, too. We will all miss so many stupendous qualities in her.

Teresa leaves behind her daughter, Shannon Brummett of Kansas City, MO; her father, Bill Davis of Paola; three sisters Mary Davis of Reno, NV, Patti Davis Ridihalgh of Paola, and Lori Theno Grantham of Olathe; and five brothers, Chuck Davis of Edgerton, Mark Davis and Bob Davis of Paola, Dennis Davis of Overbrook, KS and Matt Davis of Ft. Collins, CO. She is also survived by her former husband Wes Brummett and her three stepchildren: Gina Cain, Jeff Brummett and Justin Brummett; including her grandchildren, Jessica Cain, Kelsey Cain, Clint Brummett, and Chayton Brummett.

Never feel like Teresa lost a fight. She fought - and fought hard. Really, she just began a peaceful journey where her pain is no more, and her love shines down on us all.

The memorial service will be held on July 30th, 2016 at 2:30 PM at Edgerton United Methodist Church located at 300 E. 4th St. Edgerton, KS. There will be a banquet held after the service at the Legion Hall located at 315 Meadowbrook Circle Gardner, KS.
