Sylvia Hilton, age 74, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in Olathe, KS.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 15 from 5:00-8:00 pm at New Life Pentecostal Church, 11995 S. Monticello Terrace, Olathe, KS. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, July 16 at New Life Pentecostal Church, with Pastor Gregory Riggen, officiating. Burial will follow at Olathe Memorial Cemetery. Sylvia was born in Kansas City, MO to William Gordon Nelson and Evelyn Jane (Hyde) Nelson on October 19, 1941. She went to school at Woodland and North Gate Schools in Kansas City, MO.
She worked at Hallmark Cards until she married L.D. Hilton on February 4, 1962 in Kansas City, MO. She and her husband worked in the ministry for over 20 years.
Sylvia is preceded in death by her husband, L.D. Hilton, her mother and father, Evelyn and William Nelson, and her brother Billy Roy Nelson.
Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Theresa Rowan and husband Kenneth of Aurora, CO, son, Dave Hilton and wife Sherrill of Lansing, KS, son, Jerry and wife Reba of Olathe, KS, sister, Linda Domerese ( husband Dale) of Belton, MO, sister, Barbara Wheeler (husband Darrell) of Kansas City, MO, brother, Ronnie Nelson (wife Ginger) of Independence, MO, sister, Janice Lamb (husband Dave) of Neosho, MO and sister Terry Skinner of Clinton, MO, grandchildren Brandon Hilton( wife Andrea), W.D. Hilton (wife Amber), Rebekah Hilton, Victoria Hilton, Bradley Hilton, Jared Hilton, Cynthia and Jacinda Rowan and great-grandchildren, Reghan, Morgan, Nolan, Camden, Jovahn and Melody along with numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.
Casket Bearers will be Brandon Hilton, W.D Hilton, Bradley Hilton, Jared Hilton, Del Davila, and Darrell Wheeler. Honorary Casket Bearers are Jonathon Wheeler, Joel Wheeler, J.D. Wheeler, Larry Lamb, Josh Santiago, and Shawn Redus.
