Sydney Altschuler Lippman passed away on Oct. 24, 2017 at Kansas City Hospice House surrounded by her loved ones. She celebrated her 94th birthday this year. She was born and raised in Kansas City and graduated from Southwest High School. She lived most of her life in Kansas City but spent some years in Long Boat Key, Florida before returning to KC.
Her family was the center of her life. Sydney was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was fiercely loyal and a strong advocate for her friends and family. She recently said how lucky she was to have had her family and friends. Her family would say that we were blessed to have her in our lives.
She was preceded in death by her father Sidney Altschuler; mother Helen Altschuler; sister Betty Altschuler Sharlip; and her beloved granddaughter Lisa Ann Schultz.
Left to mourn her are: her daughter Linda Katz Patterson (Curt Patterson) of Prairie Village, Kansas; daughter Cathie Lisa Bourne (Carl Bourne) of Seminole, Florida; her grandson Craig Schultz (Christy Concannon) and their daughters Cate and Cara of Bethesda, Maryland; her niece Dee Dee Sharlip Lowland (Leonard Lowland) of Leawood, Kansas; and her niece Penny Hershman of Kansas City, Missouri.
