SUSAN JANETTE SCHMAUCH GRIMES HENDRICKSON MILLER, age 69, passed away November 8, 2018 at her home in Olathe, KS surrounded by her family.
Susan was born April 27, 1949 in Deer Lodge, Montana to Robert and Janet Schmauch. After graduating from Graceland College with her Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing, she began her career with the Veterans Affairs Hospital, and was later employed with Research Medical Center where she was the Nurse Manager in the Rehabilitation Unit.
Later in her life, Susan received her Masters of Theological Studies from Saint Paul School of Theology.
She enjoyed traveling, dining out, cycling, kayaking, hiking and spending time with her family, most especially her grandchildren.
Surviving family members include her loving husband, Ron Miller, and children Jeff Grimes and his wife, Jen, and children Jack and Rob, Christy (Grimes) Jespersen and her husband, Jason, and their children Cain and Coryn, Brian Miller and his wife, Sherri, Beth (Miller) Brennan and her husband Ryan, and their children Owen and Ellie, her brothers Len Schmauch and his wife, Niki, Jay Schmauch and his wife, Donna, and Don Schmauch. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 15 at 4:00pm at the Wesley Covenant Chapel, United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, Leawood, KS, with visitation offered an hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center at Research Medical Center, 1 west, 2316 E. Meyer Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64132 or to the Partner School Program at the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Ave, Leawood, KS 66224.
