Susan Lee passed February 27, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family.
Susan, also affectionately called Sue and Susie by family and friends, was born December 5th, 1949. She attended Queen of the Holy Rosary, St. Ann's and Cure of Ars grade schools, she was a proud graduate of St. Teresa's Academy before earning her bachelors in education from Kansas State University.
Susan touched the lives of many students, and she loved teaching fifth grade, where the kids are not too young but not too old. She began her teaching career at St Paul's in Olathe, spent many years at St Pius X in Mission with a lasting group of wonderful friends, and finished her career at John Paul II in Overland Park. She retired from full-time teaching to be a full-time grandmother to five wonderful grandchildren. Susan was a devoted grandma, and truly delighted in the time she spent with them.
Susan married the love of her life Jerry on July 9th, 1976, and they shared over 47 married years together. Devoted parents to three daughters, Stephanie, Megan, and Meredith, who they gave the gift of a happy, fun and fulfilling childhood, full of fond memories. Sue and Jerry were blessed with five grandchildren, Brady, Gavin, Cooper, Luke and Lindsay.
Susan was always positive and kind, always found joy in life, loved her family, and she never lost her warm loving spirit.
Susan enjoyed reading and particularly liked the following line from the book Wonder, "That's how it is in heaven. It's just love, and no one forgets who they love."
