Sue A. Cheshire, 82, of Olathe, passed away on January 16, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 24, 1937 to George and Bernadette (Osterholt) Sturgeon in Louisville, KY.
She married her lifelong husband C.B. Cheshire in Louisville, Kentucky on July11, 1959. She was proud of her Kentucky roots and never lost her southern charm. Sue and C.B. have lived in Kentucky, West Virginia, Cincinnati and Cleveland Ohio.
They finally established roots in Kansas which has been their home for the last 45 years.
She was a member of several gourmet cooking groups. Everyone reaped the rewards of that because of her wonderful meals. No one who visited ever left hungry. She loved gardening and shared that joy with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren. She knew the names and varieties of every flower in her gorgeous garden, that she grew at every home.
Sue knew no strangers and loved getting to know people. She drew people to her with her smile, warmth and her loving nature. She had the innate ability to make everyone feel important and that each one was loved. She was a faithful Catholic and lived her life with joy in knowing the gospel.
Sue is survived by her loving Husband, C.B., Sister Tina Blanford, Daughter, Laura (Bill) Brady, Son, Gregg (Evelyn) Cheshire, Son, Glenn (Laura) Cheshire. Grandchildren Shawn Cheshire, Kelly Boswell, Caitlin Billings, Weston Brady, Hannah Hardy, Haley Brady, Bailey Cheshire, Libby Cheshire and Carter Cheshire. Plus 6 great-grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews. All of whom she loved and touched deeply.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Bernadette Sturgeon, brother Tom Sturgeon, and son Todd Cheshire.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 10-11AM Prince of Peace Catholic Church 16000 W. 143rd St, Olathe, Kansas 66062. Funeral mass to follow at 11AM.
Memorials are suggested to the University of Kansas Cancer Center, for the excellent care they provided our wonderful mother.
