SUE ANN HANNON
Sue Ann Hannon, 73, of Olathe, Kansas, left this earth on February 22, 2009, after a two-and-a-half-year battle with pancreatic cancer, to arrive in heaven in the presence of her precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A celebration of her life will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 14275 Blackbob Rd., Olathe, KS., with a visitation from 5-7 p.m., on Thursday, Feb. 26. Burial at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, 159th St. and Antioch. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Olathe Hospice 20333 W. 151st St., Dr. Bldg. 2, Suite 301, Olathe, KS, 66061.
Sue was born in Olathe, KS, on April 12, 1935, to William and Edna Shipman. A graduate of Olathe High School, Sue married her high school sweetheart Charles (Chuck) Hannon on July 11, 1954. She retired in 2000 after many years with the Olathe School District, most recently as an office aide with Northview Elementary. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she was known for her gracious and faithful spirit. An extraordinary homemaker, her family will miss her tender, loving care. Her walk through the "valley of the shadow of death" was a moving example for all.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Bill, Gary, and Wayne Shipman. She is survived by her husband, her children and their spouses, Terri and Brad Haddock, Wichita, KS; Kenneth and Lisa Hannon, Gardner, KS; and Kristi and Kevin Nunnally, Overland Park, KS; grandchildren Austin and Sarah Haddock, Melissa Bruening and Erin Hannon, and Karaline, Katherine, and Kyle Nunnally; and three great-grandchildren.
