Steven R. Hanich, 70, of Olathe, KS passed away December 18, 2020
Steven was born February 9, 1950, in Holdrege NE to Norman and Anna Marie Hanich. He attended the University of Houston and graduated from the University of Nebraska 1969-1973. He graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree. He married Robyn Hanich in 1972 and they moved to Muscatine IA, and then on to Olathe KS. He became a Engineer for Black and Veatch and worked for them for 38 years. Steven and Robyn have been blessed with two sons, Clay and Cole.
Steven had a passion for golf and enjoyed traveling with family and friends. He had an intense love for Nebraska football and attended many games over the years. He loved to walk and was known to walk miles each day throughout Olathe. Our family holds on to several memories of Steven, many filled with laughter and humor.
Steven is preceded in death by his father, mother, sister Terri Harlan, and nephew Mark Hanich.
Steven is survived by his wife of 48 years Robyn Hanich and their sons, Clay Hanich, Cole Hanich (Kaitlyn) and a granddaughter Elliot Ann. Brother Michael (Karen), sister Shellee Kersenbrock (Mark) Gary Harlan (Sue). Scott Risdon (Debbie) Nieces and Nephews-Josh Harlan, Kristen Hanich, Paul Hanich, Katie McInerney, (Mike) and Maggie Rutford (Robert) Nate Risdon (Janelle) Liam, Nolan, Emmitt, and Dylan
Steven was active in the church choir for 25 years. Memorials/Donations can be sent to the Aldersgate UMC (Music Memorial fund) - 15315 W. 151st St. Olathe, KS 66062
Celebration of life will be held at a later date (after covid).
