Steven Ronald Cleary, Jr.

Steven Ronald Cleary Jr., 60, of Olathe, passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, surrounded by his family after a valiant battle with cancer.

He was born on October 31, 1961 in Albany, New York to Steven and Mary (Shickle) Cleary.

Steve graduated from Mont Pleasant High School in 1979 and then went on to Siena College in Loudonville, New York, where he met the love of his life. He married Heidi Anne Jahn on June 11, 1983 and they made their first home in Schenectady, New York.

He spent his entire career in healthcare starting as a Registrar in the ER at Ellis Hospital. After transferring to the business office at Ellis, he accepted an administrative position at Conifer Park in Scotia, New York. This career opportunity enabled him to open a new hospital in the Midwest. Not knowing anyone there, Steve and Heidi moved their young family to Kansas, where parents from both sides soon followed. He continued in his career in hospital administration, where he made many lifelong friends.

Steve loved his family fiercely. He loved time at the lake, watching his grandchildren swim off the dock, catching fish and boating. He touched many lives over his 60 years on this earth and walked as a man of integrity the entire way.

Steven is survived by his loving wife, Heidi of Olathe, Kansas, his children Jared (Savannah) Cleary of Olathe, Kansas and Jessica (Jason) Booze of Bucyrus, Kansas; grandchildren, Hadley Booze, Jaden Cleary, Lilah Booze, Harper Cleary and Olivia Cleary. He is also survived by his sister, Anna (Bear) Capodieci-Tomassacci of Greenfield Center, New York and several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
