Steve Richard Eddy

January 30, 1951 — June 21, 2018

Stephen Richard Eddy of Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 from lung cancer at the Kansas City Hospice House surrounded by his family.

Steve was born on January 30, 1951 in Athens, Ohio to Richard and Dianne Eddy. Steve's work included radio show hosting at Ohio University which continued into a career in Dallas, Texas at KVIL. He enjoyed running his own company that provided private security to Fortune 500 companies until he retired in 2010. Other passions were music, photography, and traveling.

He is survived by his mother Dianne Eddy, of Irvine, CA, brother John Eddy, of Irvine, CA, his three daughters, Elizabeth Eddy, Lauren (Spencer) Wohlford, and Mary Kate (Alex) Toler, his two precious granddaughters Lily and Ella Wohlford, and his significant other, Connie Siron, of the home. He was preceded in death by his father Richard Eddy and his wife of 22 years Kayla Eddy (mother of Lauren and Mary Kate).

The family is grateful to the KU Med Cancer Center in Lee's Summit and the Kansas City Hospice House for their care and compassion. Steve requested no flowers, and instead, suggested contributions to the Kansas City Hospice House or Mahaffie Farmstead.

A celebration of life for Steve Eddy will be held at Tiff n Jay's Bar and Grill (700 NE Woods Chapel Rd, Lee's Summit, MO) on Saturday July 14th from 12 - 3pm.
