Stephen "Steve" Henson Deutman, 73, of Overland Park, passed away on July 8, 2021 at his home.
He was born on October 3, 1947 to Richard and Juanita Deutman.
Steve was a vital part of Ellis and Simpson Development for over 25 years, and spent many years contributing to the success of the company as Land Development Manager. Steve was a uniquely talented individual who never met a stranger, and found that most problems were surmountable by his great intellect and deep knowledge of construction.
On December 3, 1983, he married Gina Marie Parker, and they made their home in Denver, CO, then eventually settled in Overland Park, KS.
He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church. Steve loved and cherished his wife Gina, as well as his Greyhound and Doberman dogs ( particularly his beloved Cooper).
Steve is survived by his sister-in-law, Dr. Lisa Parker and her husband Steve Propst, and a host of treasured friends, including Mark Simpson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gina, and his parents.
A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at 4:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel - Olathe Chapel, 14275 S Blackbob, Olathe, Kansas, with a Celebration of Life to follow at the Nicklaus Golf Club at Lionsgate, 143rd and Dearborn, Overland Park, KS.
In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to to the Kansas City Retired Greyhounds as Pets, P.O. Box 27014, Overland Park, KS 66225 .
