Staci Lynette Elliott, 49, of Olathe, went to be with Jesus on September 3, 2019. She was born on January 4, 1970, to Charles and Connie (Riley) Elliott in Colorado Springs, CO, but her first home was Palmer Lake, CO.
Staci was a happy preacher's kid and learned early how to adapt to new environments. As a baby, she moved with her family to Aurora, CO, there she loved being around people that quickly became adoptive grandparents. Around 3 years of age, Staci decided to run away from home, so she packed a couple of dresses and said she was leaving. Her mother watched through the peep hole of the door as Staci got to the street and turned around. She came back to the house, rang the doorbell and asked her mother to watch her safely cross the street so she could run away to her Rosales grandparents.
Staci's first school years were in Colorado Springs, CO, at Jefferson Elementary School through fourth grade. Staci came home on the first day of kindergarten, put her hands on her hips frustrated and told her mother, "Mom, you have been spelling my name wrong!". Grades five through ten were in Henryetta, OK. In 1985, her most amazing dad went to Heaven. She always considered Henryetta home. In 1986, God moved Staci, along with her sister, Robyn, and Mother to Olathe, KS. She graduated from Olathe South High School in 1988. Staci fully enjoyed her college years were at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, KS. Staci carried the lasting friendships made during these years in her heart.
Staci's early career was spent as a social worker in Olathe, KS. She was also a social worker in Hannibal, MO. Staci cared deeply for others and wanted to serve and minister to hurting people.
For the past ten years, Staci was employed with Pharmacy First in Overland Park, KS, and worked throughout the company. Recently, she became a project specialist. She dearly loved working with the Pharmacy First family.
Staci lived with Multiple Sclerosis for many years and although life was a daily struggle, she was devoted to her job. Doctors and family suggested she apply for disability, but she was committed to the Pharmacy First family. Staci's motivation and strength came from her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Staci loved her family with all of her heart including, Sparkles, the cat. She loved drinking coffee and reading books. Staci loved people, she cared deeply for everyone and invested in the lives of others.
Staci is survived by her loving mother, Connie Elliott LaForce and step-father, Wayne LaForce who has loved her as his own. She is also survived by her sister, Robyn Elliott Barnett and husband Tadd, of Olathe, KS; and brothers, Tim LaForce of Gardner, KS, and Stephen LaForce and wife Kelly of Hannibal, MO. She was loved by her nieces and nephews, Whitney, Amy, Courtney, Erin, Kenzie, Brandon, Jared, Baylor and Gunnar.
She was preceded in death by her loving and faithful father, Charles L. Elliott, Staci was a Daddy's girl. Her grandparents, Roscoe and Thelma (Brookshier) Riley and Charles D. Elliott, and Helen Louise Chapman, Rosie and Helena Rosales, Randy and Carmaleeta Rosenberg.
Her memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2019, at the College Church of the Nazarene - Garrett Chapel, 2020 E Sheridan St, Olathe, KS 66062. A second memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at Hannibal First Church of the Nazarene, 4000 W Ely Rd, Hannibal, MO 63401.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to either College Church of the Nazarene in Olathe, Kansas or to Hannibal First Church of the Nazarene in Hannibal, MO.
