Shirley Dydell

Shirley Ann Dydell 79, made her heavenly departure on December 29, 2014. She was born December 7, 1935 to Fraiser George Washington and Alma Elizabeth Dydell in Weston, Missouri, where she also attended school.

Shirley gave her life to the Lord at a young age. She was a member of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME) for many years, where she served as a Stewardess, and then later became a Deaconess. In her later years, she became a member of Refuge of Hope Community Church where she served as a Stewardess. Shirley had touched many lives by being obedient and working in the ministries she loved so much. She would always greet everyone with a smile, and was always giving to others.

She is preceded in death by her parents Fraiser and Alma Dydell, brothers Raymond and Donald Dydell, half-brother William "Pudd" Dydell, sisters Josephine Dowdell, and Patricia Thompkins.

Shirley is survived by her two brothers Roger Dydell, Colorado Springs, CO; Richard Dydell, Kansas City, MO; one step brother James Johnson, Olathe, KS; son Altone "Tony" Dydell (Heidi), Colorado Springs, CO; three daughters Carol "Kay" Dydell, Olathe, KS; LulaMae Dydell, Los Angeles, CA; Evelyn Richards (Dennis), Ontario, CA; seven grandchildren Romonda Robinson Hall (Robert), Olathe, KS; Shakira Gilmore, Olathe, KS; Lechei Burris (Rickey), Palmdale, CA; Terrance Dydell, Los Angeles, CA; Desmond Richards, Ontario, CA; Aaron Richards, Ontario, CA; Naomi Richards, Napels, FL; eight great grandchildren, loving nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.

The family suggest memorial contributions be sent to: Good Shepherd Hospice, 11253 Strang Line Road, Lenexa, KS 66215.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Good Shepherd Hospice and Pinnacle Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation for their support in her final days. The family also wished to thank Second Baptist Church of Olathe.
