Shirley Craig

Shirley Marshel Craig, 85, Olathe Kansas, passed away April 27, 2010 at her home. The family suggests contributions to the church, 621 South Lee, Olathe, KS 66061.

Shirley Marshel Herrick, was born on January 11, 1925 in Kansas City, Kansas and graduated from Argentine High School, Class of 1943. Shirley was the only child of Marshel and June Herrick. She was preceded in death by her father Marshel who died prior to Shirley's birth, and her mother June and William Lingo.

Shirley led a rich and full life with many interests and passions. After a freighter trip around the world with her two sons in 1969, she became a travel agent and later a partner at Horizon Travel Service in Olathe until her retirement. Her lifelong joys included drawing and painting, traveling the world, and in retirement volunteering at the Salvation Army and her church and being involved with her grandchildren.

Shirley was a member and past officer of the Missouri Valley Chapter of ASTA, Certified Travel Consultant, Charter member of chapter GR P.E.O., and an Elder in her church.

She is survived by her sons; Bill and wife Valerie, and John and wife Linda, all of Olathe. Four grandchildren; Brianna (and husband Craig), Bryce, Casey, and Spencer.
