Shirley Marie Craig, 90, of Overland Park, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on April 17, 2023.
Shirley Craig was born on March 22, 1933. She was raised in Salem, NJ by Alfred and Melinda (Dunn) Craig of Media, PA.
On July 17, 1954, Shirley married Henry L Craig, Sr and lived in Roxbury, Ma for a short time before moving to Sharon, Massachusetts in 1970 where they raised their family. Shirley worked various jobs, including as a school aid for the Sharon Public school system.
After 35 years of marriage, Henry Craig went home to be with the Lord on January 7, 1989. Years later, Shirley reconnected with a man from her hometown in New Jersey, Charles Goldsboro, and on September 23, 2006 they were married. Shirley and Charles lived in Olathe, KS and were married 14 years until Charles went home to be with the Lord on February 10, 2022.
Shirley is survived by her 4 children Sharon Craig-Pippin of Overland Park, Henry and Katherine Craig of Overland Park, Sylvia Craig-LoCoco of Attleboro, Ma, and Hugh L. Craig of Rhode Island, her 4 grandchildren Matthew LoCoco of Attleboro, Ma, Kelsey Peterson and her husband Garrett of Manhattan Ks, Henry N. Craig of Overland Park, Brianna Craig of Overland Park, and her only great-grandson Emmett Peterson of Manhattan, KS, and many nieces of nephews.
A celebration of her life will take place on April 28th at 4:00 at Penwell Gable Funeral Home, Olathe, followed by a viewing from 5:00 to 6:00.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Shirley's name to Crossroads Hospice Charitable Foundation.
